Banana Chi-Chi

banana chi-chi

Banana liqueur, pineapple juice mixed with coconut cream and blended together with a chilled shot of Napoleon vodka. Yes, this tropical mix of exotic fruits reportedly became very popular in Puerto Rico in the 1980s, as a thicker and stronger version of the traditional piña colada usually served to tourists with local run.
It is important to use a blender instead of a simple shaker, to give it the thick, icy body of the drink.
Other variants suggest to pour the Vodka well chilled only when the fruit mixture is already in the glass.

Ingredients:

  • Napoleon vodka – 60 ml
  • Banana liqueur – 30 ml
  • Pineapple juice – 40 ml
  • Coconut cream – 20 ml
  • Lime juice, freshly squeezed – 3 tablespoons
  • Crushed ice
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon (to serve)
  • Pineapple slice (to serve)
  • Pineapple greens (to serve)
