Blackberry & Vodka Cocktail

Blackberry & Vodka Cocktail

The intense purple color of blackberries and their specific taste, succulent, sweet and sometimes sour, make these berries ideal to mix elegantly with vodka.
The season is quite short August-September to obtain them fresh, but we can also use the frozen ones. Therefore we suggest to whisk them with the lemon juice before making the final mix wit the other ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Napoleon vodka — 35 ml
  • Blackberry liqueur — 15 ml
  • Puree of fresh blackberries — 3 tablespoons (mix fresh blackberries with few drops of water in a blender)
  • Lemon juice, freshly squeezed — 2 tablespoons
  • Simple sugar syrup — 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla syrup – 1 teaspoon
  • Egg white — from 1 egg
  • Ice
  • Fresh blackberry berry (for decoration)
  • A sprig of mint (for decoration)

How to do:

Important: All ingredients must be precooled.

  1. In a cocktail shaker with ice, add Napoleon vodka, blackberry liqueur, blackberry puree, lemon juice, sugar syrup, vanilla syrup and egg white. Shake vigorously for 40 seconds.
  2. Strain the cocktail mixture through a fine sieve into a glass to clear the cocktail from the seeds and pulp of berries, as well as from ice. Return the resulting mixture to the shaker and shake again.
  3. Pour the cocktail mixture into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with fresh blackberries and a sprig of mint.

Cheers!
